As a candidate for the township trustee board, my platform is built on four fundamental principles to ensure sustainable growth while preserving our community's unique character:
Protecting Our Small-Town Charm
My top priority is safeguarding our rural nature, which is essential for preserving our small-town charm and preventing unnecessary tax increases. Farms and open spaces require significantly fewer services compared to dense subdivisions. By preserving our landscape, we can keep taxes low and maintain our community's character.
Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Reduction
The current trustees have engaged in reckless spending, leaving our township millions in debt. This has to stop. The level of irresponsible financial management is unsustainable and must be addressed immediately. I am committed to fiscal responsibility, ensuring that our township lives within its means and prioritizes essential services without burdening current and future residents with excessive debt.
Supporting Local Business Growth
Retaining our small-town charm also means fostering a vibrant local economy. I support new small business growth through streamlined regulations and quickening the approval process. Reducing bureaucratic obstacles can encourage entrepreneurship and create a thriving business environment that benefits all residents.
Adhering to the Master Plan
Growth is essential, and housing is critical for the township and county. We must ensure all development is high-quality, confined to areas identified in our Master Plan, and serves the needs and wants of our community. This approach ensures that we maintain our identity. By following the Master Plan, we can provide opportunities for all families while preserving the values and characteristics that make our township unique.
