The goal of this website is to support Christopher Fick's campaign for the Northfield Township Board of Trustees by providing information about his background, policies, and vision for the community. It serves as a platform for community members to learn about Christopher's commitment to progress, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement. Additionally, the website offers ways to get involved through donations, volunteer opportunities, and direct contact. 

Biography

About the Candidate

Christopher Fick was born in Macomb County, Michigan, and grew up with a strong sense of hard work and dedication instilled by his parents. His father, a welder turned shop supervisor, and his mother, a hard worker in her own right, devoted herself to ensuring her children had everything they needed to succeed, provided a solid foundation for his future endeavors.

Macomb Community College was Chrisopher's entry into higher education. He then continued at the College for Creative Studies (Detroit) and the Savannah College of Art and Design. These experiences shaped his career and his commitment to excellence in all his pursuits. This background taught him the collaborative nature of design and offered a platform to solve problems and respect diverse perspectives.

 

Christopher's career journey is a testament to his adaptability and resourcefulness. It began at 14 when he took on his first job as a dishwasher. Over the next two decades, he ventured into various roles, including working as a brick laborer and many roles across the service industry; he spent five years in manufacturing, three years teaching, and even owned his own design business. For 18 years, he has worked at a national nonprofit supporting our US warfighters. These diverse experiences have shaped his approach to community service, ensuring he can adapt to the community's needs and find resourceful solutions.​

Coaching

Christopher's community involvement is deeply rooted in his passion for art and design. He has offered his services to local groups and churches, participated in passion projects, volunteered at schools, mentored young design professionals and coaching youth baseball. These activities, which demonstrate his commitment to fostering creativity and supporting others, are a testament to his character and his dedication to the betterment of his community.

In his personal life, Christopher enjoys woodworking, painting, gardening, and building a sustainable food forest for his family. He and his wife are raising three energetic boys, aged 13, 10, and 7, who thrive in the open spaces of Northfield, learning, growing, and exploring safely. Their household also has several hens, a dog named Mazel, and two cats, Avocado and Blackberry.

 

Christopher's primary motivation for running for the Board of Trustees is to support like-minded individuals in his community. He is dedicated to giving you a voice and sharing insights and opportunities with the broader community. With a strong background in both professional and community spheres, Christopher Fick is committed to fostering growth, transparency, and inclusivity in Northfield. His goal is to bring these values to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that the community's voice is heard and its needs are met.

Independent by Design

As an independent candidate, I bring a unique and unbiased perspective to the role of Township Trustee. Unlike candidates affiliated with major political parties, my decisions and policies are driven solely by our community's needs and best interests. This independence allows me to assess each issue on its own merits, free from the influence of party agendas or partisan politics. By focusing on practical solutions and common-sense approaches, I can address the concerns of all residents, ensuring that our community's priorities are always front and center.
